Board Members

PRESIDENT

Anna Schneider

Having grown up in the great prairies of Saskatchewan, Anna got her first taste of outdoor climbing in 2016 only after she moved to New Brunswick. She quickly fell in love with both the sport and its community.

Anna has previously volunteered with the UNB Rock and Ice Club as a monitor and Board Member. During this time, she also designed the 2019 “A Rock Climber’s Guide to New Brunswick” with author Dom Caron. After moving to Kelowna in 2019, she joined COCA to protect access and help new climbers get outdoors safely.

Adam Tutte

VICE PRESIDENT

Adam is one of the most active developers in the Interior of BC and a very passionate climber. Adam is the walking guidebook of the Kelowna community and has spent countless hours developing throughout the Okanagan.

SECRETARY

Since moving from New Brunswick in 2020, Alex slowly started rock climbing to socialize and workout, all in one go. He fell in love with the sport when he started going outside and exploring the crags throughout British Columbia.

Alex joined COCA to promote safety and equity in rock-climbing. In addition to joining COCA, he was also a founding member of Queer Crushers Kelowna, a climbing group that provides safe(r) spaces and builds community for 2SLGBTQIA+ climbers in the Okanagan.

Tara Berntzen

EVENTS COORDINATOR

Tara is an Okanagan woman at heart, and thrives in the outdoors. Her main activities include hiking, climbing, paddle-boarding, and skiing (both cross-country and downhill).

Tara found climbing back in 2016 as an intermittent activity, but dove into the sport in late 2021 upon moving back to the Okanagan. Since then, she has found a fun and knowledgeable community and a safe space to help her grow further in the sport.

Her motivation to join COCA as a board member is to help create a supportive space and welcoming community environment for all climbers to flourish, whether they're newcomers or experienced.

Mike Greer

TREASURER

Mike is passionate about playing outside. You can find him climbing, biking, or splitboarding in his spare time depending on the time of year and what the weather is doing. With over a decade's worth of experience climbing in the Okanagan, he sits on the Board for both COCA and our local bouldering society to ensure climbing is accessible for years to come in our region.

Robyn Solland

Born and raised in Kelowna, Robyn has a deep knowledge of the land around the Okanagan. She loves any outdoor adrenaline sport, including canyoning, ice climbing, snowboarding and of course rock climbing.

Robyn joined COCA in 2024 to contribute in the development of a strong voice for Okanagan climbers. Over the next few years, she hopes to learn more about route maintenance and development to further support the Okanagan climbing community. She is also the co-founder of Rock On Collective, a nonprofit that facilitates rock climbing mentorship opportunities for people facing systemic barriers in the Okanagan.

BOARD MEMBER

Erik Pervin

Erik is driven by his love for the outdoors. As an ACMG guide and non-profit leader, he combines his passions with his work to try and make the world a better place, one person at a time. He joined COCA to get more involved in the local climbing community after recently moving from Penticton, where he works with Skaha Rock Adventures in the spring and fall. He is happy doing anything outside and likes making gourmet backcountry meals. You'll find him in the mountains year-round, following the weather and the stoke.
